As Eucharistic communities, our parishes are places not only for prayer and formation but also for social services and development:
- Health – A number of our parishes are facilitating medical and dental services either regularly or occasionally. Some of our parishes also occasionally conduct a bloodletting activity that usually attracts many donors.
- Education – Depending on the availability of resources, some of our parishes are giving full or partial scholarship to poor students.
- Feeding – Food pantries are regularly or occasionally put up by some of our parishes to contribute in feeding the poor.
- Financial assistance – Some of our parishes give financial help to parishioners, “walk-ins” and victims of calamities. Some also establish financial cooperatives like the Assumption Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPuCo).
- Care for the environment – Some of our parishes have or enter into tie-ups for programs on disaster management, risk reduction and waste management.
- Program for marginalized sectors – The Street Children Program at Sta. Cruz Parish is a good example of caring for the marginalized sector of our society.
