Understanding the “what,” “how” and “why” will certainly make more meaningful our celebrations – worship.
1. Life In The Eucharist Seminar ·
- This adult catechism on the Eucharist is being promoted in every pastoral community. ·
- Although there are some ramifications for the different LITE teams because of the needs and the different approaches of the local directors, the seminar is still basically the same. ·
- For now there is no National LITES director. But this job is being shouldered by the Consultor on Apostolate. ·
- It was previously suggested to make LITES as the core-competence of the Province since it is perceived as the main strength of POLA. ·
- International/National/Regional LITE congress – There are big events wherein those who have previously undergone LITES from the different communities of POLA gather together in order to continually grow in the Eucharist.
2. Kabataang LITES (K-LITES) ·
- It is the modules for LITES adjusted to the youth. ·
- The modules have been reviewed and found to fit the youth, even the simple ‘processing of experiences’ that is being done. ·
- Since the seminar has to be held in a retreat house for a number of days, the cost for holding it is rather high.
3. Celebration of the Paschal Seder ·
- To greatly deepen the appreciation for the Eucharist through its roots, the Pascal Seder is celebrated from time to time at the Sta. Cruz Parish.
4. Basic Orientation on the Eucharist for the Youth ·
- This seminar aims to provide young people with a basic understanding of the Eucharist, and hopefully, a strong foundation they can build upon as they grow older. ·
- After receiving feedback, the modules were reviewed and revised accordingly.
5. Once a month Eucharistic Recollection ·
- Sta. Cruz Parish, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and Sacred Heart Parish hold a monthly Eucharistic recollection. It is hoped that other SSS parishes would also do this so that it becomes somewhat of a trademark of an SSS parish. ·
- Those who attend these monthly recollections get to experience a spiritual package of silent prayer, confession and healing through the Eucharist in addition to the Eucharistic talk, which is ably delivered by an invited SSS priest or brother.
6. Bible Study ·
- To appreciate more the Eucharist and our Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, a substantial knowledge of the Word of God is very necessary. ·
- It is false to assume that young people will automatically take a liking to Bible study. Some have some apprehensions attending Bible study due to several reasons: being new to such gathering and not knowing what to expect and having to share one’s thoughts, etc. ·
- It will be to the apostolate’s advantage if lay people are tapped to handle this, and even consider sponsoring them to take up some courses in Biblical studies.
