First day, October 20, 2015

Eight-fifteen in the morning, the opening liturgy signaled the beginning of the Amplified Provincial Council 2015 at the Maheau’s Hall, Provincial House. Fr. Martin Ochola, SSS enthroned the Holy Bible followed by the Reading of the Scriptures, from the Prophet Amos by Fr. Froilan Briones, SSS. Preceding the symbolic unveiling of the Icon of Jesus by Br. Bobby Yanzon, SSS was a song response (The Cry of the Poor). At the conclusion of the petitions for the APC the Vocation song was sung.

• The Provincial Superior, Fr. Joseph Matitu, SSS read the rationale of the logo/slogan for the APC 2015 (At Your word I will let down my net.)

• Roll call by the Provincial Superior

(NB) Fr. Grogee de Guzman’s text message to the Provincial Superior was read to explain the reason of the absence of San Leonardo community due to flood caused by heavy rain and typhoon the previous days.

• Citation of the preliminaries of the APC. Regarding the APC convocation letter, he noted that this had been forwarded earlier through email to the local superiors and pastors.

• The provincial superior proceeded with the reading of his speech attached to the files of the APC documents followed by the reading of the State of the Province.

• Reporting of the Local Superiors followed. The working questions for each report presentation were the following:

• Order of Presentation of Local Community Reports: In the morning: (1) Sta. Cruz, (2) Novitiate Community, (3) Davao Community, (4) Scholasticate Community, (5) Cagayan de Oro, In the afternoon: (6) Provincialate Community. (7) Tacloban Community, (8) Tabaco Community, (9) La Sallian, (10) Mapandan Community, (11) Uganda Community.

First Day of APC adjourned at 5:45 in the afternoon followed by adoration.
