APC Day 2 – October 21, 2015

The second day of the APC meeting started at 8:15 in the morning with the opening song/prayer (You Are Mine) led by Fr. Reynaldo Capili, SSS the presider for the day. Shortly after the opening prayer, Fr. Rey notified the body about the absence of Fr. Hermie in the meeting due to his cough that left him restless the whole night.

Minutes of the Meeting were readily distributed by the Secretariat early on before the morning session. Fr. Provincial intervened to propose that the time for the reading of the Minutes be dispensed and allow it to be treated as approved while the secretariat shall attend to all corrections the body may raise. The proposal was unanimously carried by the body. Immediately after this, Fr. Rey resumed with the proceeding by calling the community of Hawaii for the presentation of the community report.

Fr. Frankie, in the name of Fr. Sammy Loterte, SSS, the Local Community Superior of our two houses in Hawaii presented their community report. With this, all the community reports were presented.

After all these community reports, the consultors of the Provincial Council started their commission reports. Fr. Rey Capili, SSS gave his report for the Formation Commission.  This was followed by Fr. Victor Diolata Jr. for the Commission on Apostolate, then by Br. Bobby Yanzon who presented for the Commission on Mission and Inter-Provincial Collaboration.

The morning session was adjorned at around 12 noon. This was then resumed at 2:15 in the afternoon.

The following Consultors then presented their reports: Fr. Hermie Garcia, for the Commission on Lifestyle and Fr. Roel de la Cruz for the Commission on Finance.

After each report, comments were presented and some proposals were voted upon by the body.

Because of a thorough discussion on some matters, the body decided to extend its session in the evening.  This was finally adjorned at 6:55 pm. After which, they prayed together the Vespers at the Provincialate chapel.
