Dear Eymardian Family
I want to remind everyone that on November 17th the Aggregation of the Blessed Sacrament will celebrate 158 years of Foundation (1859).
On this festive date, we would like to congratulate all our brothers and sisters Aggregates of the Blessed Sacrament, belonging to our Charismatic Family and bound to the Congregations of the Blessed Sacrament and of the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament.
May Mary, the Eucharistic woman, and Saint Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist, intercede for all, so that they could continue in the constant search for a faithful and creative witness of the vocation received from the Lord.
Fraternally.
On behalf of the General Council
Fr. Eugênio BARBOSA MARTINS, sss
Superior general
The Parochial Community of the Blessed Sacrament Shrine, Tigbao, Tacloban City launched the second batch of the ABS. It was held in the Adoration Chapel last Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 3:00 in the afternoon. Twenty-six participants attended and expressed their willingness to know more and deepen their understanding on the Eucharist. The attendees are members of mandated organizations of the Parish and from the different chapels as well. Rev. Fr. Renoir Z. Oliver, Jr, SSS gave the orientation on behalf of the Province. The monthly session will be every First Saturday, 9:00 to 10:00 in the morning starting this December 2017.

The LITES Team CDO traveled for about five hours to Don Carlos, Bukidnon, on November 16, 2017, to conduct the Life in the Eucharist Seminar in Santo Niño Parish on Nov 17-18, 2017. There were 93 participants who are members of the parish council and active members of some organizations like the Charismatic Renewal Movement, Couples for Christ, Legion of Mary, and others. The parish priest, Father Albino Cagatin, and the Parish Council President, Elvie Andoy, welcomed the team; and after the seminar, they expressed their gratitude that the parishioners were able to receive teachings that would help them in their ministries, especially the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The parish has an adoration chapel; however. it is temporarily closed because committed adorers are getting fewer. Hopefully, LITES will encourage more adorers that warrant reopening the adoration chapel.
The seminar started at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17, and culminated the following day, Saturday, with a Holy Mass at 12:30 noon presided by Fr. Muriel Uy, SSS, the LITES Spiritual Director. The seminar was indeed successful and the team was thankful and happy with the participants, who were very attentive to the talks and participative in the different activities and group sharing. They tried to be well-disposed during the prayer experience. The team was also thankful for the nice accommodation provided. Lunch and dinner were served in the convent dining hall with the parish youth serving.
The Eucharistic Lord indeed guided the facilitators/sharers in their assigned modules and He sustained their energy throughout the seminar until the team was able to go back to Cagayan de Oro.

Praise and thanks to God for the grace of service through LITES!

After being inactive for the most part during the past five years, the Eucharistic Youth Movement (EYM) has reawakened with its sharing of the Basic Orientation on Eucharist for the Youth (BOEY) to the youth leaders of the GKK in our parish, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, in Davao City. This was held on Nov 4-5, 2017 at Balay Pasalamat, MIC Retreat House. The activity was graced by the presence of the LITES National Director, Fr. Jon Sison, SSS.
This formation aims to create a new set of Eucharistic Evangelizers that could help in propagating love for our Eucharistic Lord, particularly to the youth. As the SSS Congregation had just celebrated its 60 years of existence here in the Philippines with renewed impetus to propagating its charism, it is timely that our young ones are continually formed to be inspired by the works of the SSS founder, St. Peter Julian Eymard, so that by their actions they validate these words of Eymard: “Happy is the soul that knows how to find Jesus in the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in all things.”
Reflections from the Participants
The participants expressed some random thoughts regarding the seminar: there were feelings of being complete, blessed, unexplainable happiness, gratefulness, etc. With regards living the Eucharist, there were reflections of giving time to serve God through service in the church and living the mission of Christ, and encouraging family members to do the same; going to Mass and sharing what they have learned and experienced to other youths in their respective GKKs
Reflections from the EYM Core Group
The EYM Core Group was rejuvenated, the members feeling enthusiastic to speak about their apostolate once again.
Other thoughts expressed were as follows:
- Need to find time and put more effort to serve God in spite of the distance of the work place
- Realized the hunger experienced in my life at this moment
- God has a purpose, I can’t understand at this moment but will be revealed in His own time
- Feeling happy, blessed, thankful, inspired and challenged
Feelings and Reflections of EYMians
Ikay (Weillyn Marapao): “happy masyado na nakabigay ulit ng BOEY”; “it is my dream as EYM member na makapagbigay ng talk”; “I felt humbled na ginawa akong instrument ng Panginoon to spread His love sa lahat despite sa busy schedule”; “It made me realize… it’s not enough na malaman na andiyan ang Panginoon. Kailangan pala magbigay ng panahon at gumawa ng effort kahit malayo ang work ko”; “May paraan pa rin na mapalapit sa kanya.”
Pat (Patreza Masanegra): “Feeling so blessed”; “I felt na bumalik na naman ako sa pagseserbisyo, lalo na nang kinanta natin yung song na Pangako”; “I cried for I realized the hunger sa aking buhay at naprocess siya.”
Niza (Niza): “I felt full after feeling empty; timing with the situation I’m in right now”; “I remember Fr. Jon’s homily na di agad makita ang purpose bakit nangyayari ang isang bagay, pero in time ma realize ko rin ang purpose ng Diyos”; “Sana masundan ng formation para mas mahawakan ko nang mabuti.”
