Corpus Christi
(The Body of Christ and the Affliction of the Virus)
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ or Corpus Christi in Latin was instituted by Pope Urban IV in order to commemorate the institution of the Eucharist by Jesus during the last supper. Remembering the events that unfolded in the last supper: Jesus washed his disciples’ feet; he instituted the Eucharist; and made the sacrament of priesthood so that through this preisthood his Body and Blood, food or our souls, is made available for all those who believe in him.
