OLAP Celebrates Diamond Jubilee Year (1959-2019)

Brief History
In August 15, 1959 the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish was launched, Fr. Jean Bernard Bazinet, PME became the first Parish Priest and later succeeded by Fr. Conrad Lafortune, PME. The parish was turned over to the Diocese of Davao in 1968 with Fr. Edgar Rodriguez, DCD as Parish Priest. In 1972 the parish area was divided into two, giving the northern portion to the Redemptorists and the remaining part for the Assumption Parish. The first batch of the Blessed Sacrament Fathers and Brothers came to the parish in the same year. At present the Sacramentinos continue to administer the parish as they continue to journey with the parishioners.
