Saint Vincent Ferrer PARISH

“Ang inyong isang maliit na pamayanan ay isa na ngayong ganap na parokya.”

These were the words of Most Rev. Mylo Hubert Vergara, DD, Bishop of Pasig in his homily last Saturday, September 15, 2018, on the occasion of the Canonical Erection of St. Vincent Ferrer Quasi – Parish granted and approved by his Presbyteral Council.

The said canonical erection began with the blessing and reading of the marker found at the base of the image of St. Vincent Ferrer followed by a solemn procession. The reading of the Decree of Canonical Erection was read by the Rev. Fr. Mariano Baranda, Chancellor of the Diocese, granting all the rights and privileges attached to it and was followed by the Rite of Installation for the Parish Priest.

Rev. Fr. Jose Arnel Martinez, SSS, was named and installed as its first Parish Priest. Fr. Arnel was assigned by the Provincial Council last February 1, 2013, to be the pastor of the quasi-parish and the bishop intoned the Gloria glorifying God for the gift of a new parish community.

The occasion was attended by both the Diocesan Clergy and the Religious as a sign of support and affection to the community. Many religious and seminarians of the Congregation witnessed its elevation as the parish community embark on another chapter. The leaders of the different BECs, as well as church organizations and civic leaders, were also present to grace the event.

Fr. Arnel during his Thanksgiving message urged its parishioners to help in building the Parish Church as it now has a status of being a full-fledged parish – Br. Alvin Manaois, SSS
